Eiman Firoozmand, M.D.
Eiman Firoozmand, M.D. is an attending surgeon in the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is the Clinical Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Firoozmand is board certified, in both colorectal and general surgery. He is the past clinical chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, where many of his colleagues from LA Colon hold positions as Attending Surgeons. Dr. Firoozmand also carries out the role of Attending Surgeon at Cedars Sinai. In addition to this, he also volunteers on the teaching faculty at the Keck School of Medicine, which is part of the University of Southern California.
Dr. Firoozmand studied at the University of California, Davis, to receive his Bachelor’s degree, and this was followed by a medical degree at the University Of Southern California School Of Medicine. A surgical residency then took place at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and then he returned to the University of Southern California to carry out a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery, at the Keck School of Medicine, where he has served as voluntary faculty.
He is a regular contributor to peer reviewed journals, having had numerous articles published in The American Surgeon, Surgical Laparoscopy and Endoscopy, and The Journal of Trauma. He also carries out research into a number of conditions affecting the colon and rectum, particularly cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and benign anorectal conditions. He performs most operations with the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopy) to treat these colorectal conditions.
